Company Competition Team
MOVE Dance Company is home to an award-winning team of dancers between the ages of 5 and 18, with skill levels ranging from Advanced Beginner to Advanced. We currently run a curriculum-based program in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theater & Technique driven classes.
While our teams’ focus is on competition, our main objective encompasses a broader range, including, but not limited to, building a strong dance foundation, embracing the spirit of collaborative team work, and exercising the highest level of sportsmanship at all times.
CLASS AND REHEARSALS:
The MOVE Company team class curriculum are held on Mondays & Tuesdays. MOVE MINI (4 hours per week), MOVE Jr., Teen, and Senior Company Teams (6 Hours per week). Every team member is required to take Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Tech classes. Tumbling and Extra tech classes are optional. Yearly MOVE Company Competition calendars are given out at our MOVE Parent meeting in August that will outline the entire year including Choreography weekends, Conventions, Special Events and Regional/National Competitions.
COMPETITION EVENTS:
We typically participate in 4 regional competitions starting in February and a Nationals in July or July. All the dates are typically locked in giving the dancers and parents ample time to plan.
CHRISTMAS PARADE & STAGE RECITALS:
In addition to competition events, our teams also perform in our local Christmas parade and our annual recitals, held in the Spring at the prestigious Center Theater in downtown Hartsville, SC.
COMPETITION SEASON RESULTS:
For the 2024-2025 season, our teams and dancers earned wide recognition at the competitions we attended. The MOVE Company Team received countless first place scores, all numbers placed in the Top 10 or 5 at our regional competitions, won various special judges awards, and received a slew of high-platinum and diamond adjudication awards including Overall High Scores of the Day.
MOVE Company attended 2025 Believe Nationals Nationals winning 4 National Championship Titles, Entertainment National Champions, Spirit Day National Champions, multiple Choreography awards and Battle Titles.
Our teachers have also won various awards for their choreography work, including Best Choreography and Best Staging, and Costume Awards. The studio itself was honored the Intermediate Highest Scoring Studio Award at Platinum Dance Competition.
Our 2025-2026 season is upon us and we can't wait to see our MOVE Company team take the stage at 4 Regionals and Nationals this Summer! Follow our adventures on our MOVE Blog!
