MOVE Dance Academy is a family-centered dance studio founded in 2014, offering classes in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Tap, and Tumbling. We provide three progressive training levels—Recreational, Performance, and Competitive—each designed to support and nurture your child’s growth through movement. At MOVE, our mission is to inspire confidence, self-esteem, and a lifelong love for dance through a disciplined yet encouraging environment.

Owner Missy Johnson believes, “Dance is more than just movement. At MOVE, students gain life lessons that extend beyond the studio—preparing them to become strong, positive, and hardworking individuals in whatever path they choose.” Our diverse and professional team of instructors brings years of experience, passion, and training to the classroom. Working together, they ensure that every student—at every level—receives consistent, high-quality instruction and the support they need to grow as dancers and individuals.

The 2023–2024 season was a standout year for our MOVE Competitive Team, earning three National Championship Titles at Nexstar Nationals in Gatlinburg, TN, along with numerous choreography, spirit, and entertainment awards. MOVE was proudly named one of the top dance studios in the Southeast, and we’re training hard to defend our titles in the 2024–2025 season.
