MOVE Dance Academy is excited to welcome Christopher Robbins to our faculty as a Master Instructor.

​

A South Carolina native now residing in Myrtle Beach, Christopher brings more than 30 years of professional experience in the entertainment and dance industries. A member of Actors’ Equity Association, his extensive career includes work as a professional dancer, singer, actor, choreographer, director, producer, stage manager, master teacher, competition adjudicator and emcee.

Throughout his career, Christopher has worked with major entertainment companies including Walt Disney World Productions, Tokyo Disney, Opryland Productions, Gaylord Productions, Celebrity Cruise Lines, SeaWorld and Columbia City Ballet. His performance credits include Disney productions of Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and Tarzan Rocks, as well as eight years as a full-time swing with Legends in Concert in Las Vegas. He has also appeared in the The Nutcracker and portrayed “The Grinch” for the Savannah Ballet Company.

Christopher has spent nearly three decades working with national dance competition circuits as a regional director, adjudicator, choreographer, master teacher and emcee, including Starpower, Encore DCS, Imagine, Fusion NDC, Inspire NDC, Star Talent, DMA and Showstopper.

​

As an educator, Christopher has taught and choreographed for dancers across the country. His training emphasizes proper body alignment, conditioning, strength, control, technique, across-the-floor progressions and movement combinations, incorporating his specialized background in kinesiology. His students have gone on to pursue opportunities on Broadway, television, professional ballet companies, Radio City Rockettes, collegiate dance programs and the commercial dance industry.

Christopher has also served as a college adjunct professor in Theatre and Dance and as a full-time Dance Department Director and teacher at North Charleston High School. He continues to choreograph, teach and perform throughout the Grand Strand and across the United States.

We are thrilled to have Christopher bring his incredible depth of professional experience, technical knowledge and passion for developing our MOVE Company Competition dancers at MOVE Dance Academy. He is going to be a beneficial part of our team of instructors!
