Emily Ridgeway

A seasoned instructor who is fantastic at teaching quality technique! A wonderful friend and colleague who is an essential piece of the MOVE family!

​

Emily Ridgeway has training in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary and Ballet. She is our redhead who cares about her students and loves to invest in their ability and knowledge for them to achieve their goals! Emily cares deeply for her students and wants them to soar in their dance ability and take it beyond the studio walls!

​

Emily has a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Columbia College. She has interned at Broadway Dance Center, was an assistant for the Radio City Rockettes Experience and trained at the Radio Center Radio City Music Hall Summer Intensive in NYC.

She has trained with Slam, Traci Stanfield, Shelia Barker, Kirk Pfeiffer, Paul Matteson (Nugent+Matteson Dance, Bill T Jones), Martha Brim, Ginny Skinner Hanyes, Wrenn Cook, Stephanie Wilkins, Marcy Yonkey-Clayton, Meg Griffin, Jared Grimes, Ray Hesselink, Robin Bradley, Andrea Freed-Levenson, Andrea Barras, Anna Dragoni-Logan, Patty Graham. She had Choreography training with Vic Marks, Marcy Yonkey-Clayton, Ginny Skinner-Hanyes, Wrenn Cook, and Martha Brim.

Beyond her training, she has put her work in the classroom as a Faculty Dance Instructor at Williams Middle School in Florence, SC, Freed School of Performing Arts in Sumter, SC, EMpression's Dance in Pawleys Island and Rhythmics Dance in Columbia, SC. She also traveled with StarQuest Dance Competitions as a company manager seeing what dance looks like across the United States.

Emily is currently a Master Instructor for our MOVE Company team and also helps grow our MOVE Recreational program. She is a great team player who loves to make sure that every aspect of her teaching program blends across into the other classrooms. She believes that teamwork is essential into make sure everyone benefits.

​

Emily is another great piece of the puzzle that makes MOVE the place to be!
